The Cleaner Production Knowledge Series
The Cleaner Production Knowledge Series was prepared and organized by the State Economy and Trade Commission (SETC) in the year 2000. (In March 2003, the National Development and Reform Commission - NDRC - took over SETC's responsibilities.) NDRC (formerly SETC) has the mandate from the State Council of the PRC for the promotion and implementation of CP to the enterprises. Its objectives are to protect the environment, to minimize industrial waste, to maximize the utilization efficiency of energy and raw material and to produce goods and services with better quality in order to compete on the world market.
With a grant from CIDA, NDRC (formerly SETC) commissioned a number of authors to write the contents and printed ten thousand sets of the 4 volumes listed below, which are distributed at no cost to all industrial sectors, government agencies, academic and technical institutions, and public organizations concerned with the environment. The books can be obtained from the Directorate for Comprehensive Utilization of Resources, NDRC, Beijing. The series was published by China Publishing House of Jiancha, July 2000.
