Field of Services and Achievements (update from the CNCPC)
1. Training on cleaner production

11 Foundation Courses for Cleaner Production Auditors for Enterprise were held and 240 external cleaner production auditors have been fostered;

60 lectures on basic knowledge of cleaner production were organized with 4000 trainees;

Some 400 on-the-job training workshops on cleaner production in enterprises were held with 8000 participants;

CNCPC conducted in China international training workshops on cleaner production for staff from 3 national cleaner production centers including Morocco. Nepal and Vietnam.
2. Cleaner production audit for enterprise
Completed cleaner production audits in some 130 enterprises in China, which covers more than 15 industrial sectors including chemical, petrochemical, pulp and paper, pharmacy, textile, printing and dyeing, electroplating, metallurgy, brewery, leather, building materials and electronics. In all the cleaner production audits for enterprises completed in China, nearly half of the audits are conducted by CNCPC. Through implementation of the non/low cost cleaner production options, an average 20% reduction in pollutants is reached and the economic benefit achieved by each enterprise amounts to 1 million yuan.
3. Policy study on cleaner production
CNCPC helped governmental agencies at national level, provincial level and city level set up laws, acts and regulations on promotion of cleaner production. The center helped Shaanxi Province and Benxi City formulate their economic incentive regulations, which have been in operation for years. The center is currently helping the National People's Congress, the State Environmental Protection Admmistration, the State Economy and Trade Commission and the Municipal Government of Taiyuan City formulate national and local CP laws.
4. Assessment and dissemination of clean technology
CNCPC realized transfer of clean technologies from developed countries for 16 Chinese enterprises and helped some 20 enterprises obtain envirorunental loans to implement technology innovation options generated from cleaner production audit conducted by CNCPC. These environmental loans came from Chinese government, the World Bank and European Union.
5. Manuals and guidelines for CP audit
CNCPC published a Cleaner Production Audit Manual for Enterprise, which is used as the standard manual nationwide during the process of cleaner production audit. The manual has published more than 6,000 copies. And it also, published several training kits including the Training Kit for Audit Manual for Enterprise, the Guideline of Cleaner Production Audit for Pulp and Paper Industry, the Guideline of Cleaner Production Audit for Brewery Industry, Guideline of Cleaner Production Audit for Electroplating Industry, Guideline of Cleaner Production Audit for Processing Chemical Raw Material , Guideline of Cleaner Production Audit for Printing and Dyeing of Silks.
6. The National Cleaner Production Network
CNCPC set up a National Cleaner Production Network in 1995. CNCPC is the chairman organization of the board of directors of the National Cleaner Production Network, which now has 1 subnetwork and 89 member organizations, and CNCPC also acts as the secretariat of this network. An annual meeting for the network is organized each year, which makes it possible for the member organizations to exchange their experience and information on cleaner production.
7. Cleaner Production Newsletter
The Cleaner Production Newsletter is edited by CNCPC, which is a publication disseminating cleaner production in China. Each issue is published every two months with 2000 copies.
8. Assessment of Cleaner Production Enterprise
After being assessed, 2 enterprises have obtained the title of Cleaner Production Enterprise conferred by CNCNP.

10. Consulting on environmental management systems
CNCPC helped 20 enterprises establish environmental management systems according to the requirements of ISO 14001 standards.
11. International cooperation
CNCPC undertook and implemented more than 10 international cleaner production projects, including the projects financially supported by the World Bank, UNIDO, UNEP and UNDP, Sino-USA project, Sino-France project and Sino-Australia project, etc.
12. Establishment of the Information Network for Cleaner Production
Established the information system of CNCPC, including the databases of China's cleaner production experts, cleaner production organizations, clean technologies, information on conferment of clean production enterprise, policies and regulations on cleaner production and general information on the enterprises that conducted cleaner production audit.
