Anhui Provincial Economic and Trade Commission (AHETC)

Description
AHETC is a government department with the responsibility of overseeing, managing and coordinating the provincial economy.  AHETC has the following responsibilities:

  • undertaking the preparation of the province's long and middle term economicahetc.jpg (34954 bytes) development plans. This includes organizing and managing the content of the province's plans in the fields of  industry, transportation, business, and trade;>

  • analyzing, monitoring, and forecasting at the macroeconomic level;

  • regulating and managing the economy jointly with the departments concerned;

  • solving important economic problems;

  • managing, drafting and enforcing the local economic laws and policies governing industry, transportation, business, trade and the commodity market;

  •  

    ensuring that enterprises in the relevant sectors are operating properly;

  • undertaking the necessary research and preparing the content of the province's economic reform plan;

  • reviewing and approving activities of the province's enterprises, except those in the capital and foreign trade sectors. 

  • managing and coordinating technological innovation in enterprises in the relevant sectors;

  • managing the use of foreign capital in enterprises in the relevant sectors;

  • coordinating the balance between foreign and internal trade;

  • undertaking the research and preparing the province's foreign trade developing plan;

  • reviewing and approving requests for the import and export of mechanical and electrical equipment;

  • managing existing resource conservation and and utilization activities and developing new ones;

  • encouraging the development and implementation of energy-saving technologies;

  • organizing and implementing coordinated transportation activities, including carrying out research and preparing the province's transportation, and  posts and telecommunication development plans;

  • managing quality control and technology policy at the macro level;

  • preparing and supervising the implementation of work plans and policies for agro-industries.

 

AHETC is divided in 20 divisions and is also responsible for eight institutes/facilities.
