UNDP provides technical assistance to China on a grant basis. UNDP's objective is to strengthen the capacity of Chinese Government units to implement priority sustainable human development (SHD) programmes in a self-reliant and effective manner.
UNDP describes its mission as "to make a critical contribution to reducing poverty in China by supporting initiatives to achieve growth with equity, gender equality and environmental sustainability.
