GTZ (Geselleschaft für
Technische Zusammenarbeit) can look back on more
than fifteen years of experience in China gained within the framework of
technical cooperation. The programme and projects completed at the behest
of the Federal Republic of Germany cover numerous sectors, including
agriculture, forestry and animal husbandry, energy, industry,
infrastructure, health care and education.
Since skilled workers are often lacking in the various economic branches,
GTZ advises Chinese institutions and government posts in the following key
areas:

vocational training

poverty alleviation
-
support to the development of a legislative framework and effective institutions for economic reforms

infrastructure
-
environmental protection
As a result of this
activity, GTZ has gained insight into the economic conditions of the
country. We are familiar with China's sector-related principles and
strategies and with institutional structures and procedures. GTZ stresses
professional analysis of current project contributions and target-group
oriented working methods and uses its valuable experience to prepare and
implement new projects and programme.
The constant goal of GTZ involvement is to mobilize and strengthen
people's know-how and professional competence. Wherever possible, we use
our good contacts with local consultants - both individuals and private
firms - and avail ourselves of their services.
