Cleaner Production/Pollution Prevention Organizations in China

A large number of organizations at the national, provincial and municipal level are involved in the promotion and implementation of cleaner production/pollution prevention in China. There are also a number of monitoring organizations. This page provides links to brief descriptions of the activities of the various participating organizations as well as to links to their web sites (when these exist).

By the end of 1997, Eight provincial or municipal cleaner production centres were created in Shanghai, Tianjin, Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia, Jiangxi, Heilongjiang, Changsha, and Huhehaote, and two sectoral cleaner production centres were created in chemical and petrochemical industries. In addition, some kind of cleaner production promotion offices or cleaner production steering groups were created in some local EPBs.
